How I Approach Therapy

Come as you are. We can work from there.

I work from a neuroaffirming, LGBTQIA+ affirming and trauma-informed perspective, drawing from approaches including ACT, DBT, and narrative and strengths-based practice.

I support people experiencing things like anxiety, depression, burnout, gender dysphoria, questions around gender or sexuality, and the challenges that can come with being neurodivergent, whether formally diagnosed, self-identified or still figuring out what fits.

I don’t expect you to adapt yourself to fit therapy. Often, the strategy itself doesn’t need to change, we just need to change how we get there. That might mean talking something through instead of writing it down, using more concrete language, or finding another way to access the same idea when the usual method doesn’t work for you.

I’m also not here to sit across from you and tell you how to live your life or give you advice. I see therapy as something we do collaboratively. Sometimes that might mean making sense of what’s happening. Sometimes it’s finding a practical strategy that makes things a little more manageable. Sometimes it’s working out the next step when there isn’t an obvious one yet.

My job is to sit alongside you and help you find approaches that actually work for you, not turn you into the person a textbook says you should be.

When we work together, I’ll bring my clinical knowledge and skills to the table. You bring the expertise on being you.

Services I Offer

Clinical Documentation — Existing Clients

Clinical letters, reports or other supporting documentation may be available for existing clients where clinically appropriate and within my scope of practice. Fees may vary depending on the type and complexity of documentation required.

Extended Length Telehealth Session — 75 minutes

Available where clinically appropriate for people who may benefit from a longer appointment for any reason.

I support people experiencing things like anxiety, depression, burnout, gender dysphoria, questions around gender or sexuality, and the challenges that can come with being neurodivergent, whether formally diagnosed, self-identified or still figuring out what fits.

Standard Telehealth Session - 50 minutes

Sometimes Oh Shift might not be the fit for you — and that’s okay.

There are some things I don’t offer through Oh Shift. I don’t provide crisis or emergency support, diagnostic assessments or couples therapy. I currently work with people aged 16 and over.

If what you’re looking for isn’t something I offer, that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with what you’re looking for — it just means I’m probably not the right person to provide it.

Still not sure?

You don’t need to have it all figured out before getting in touch. I offer a free 15-minute chat where you can ask questions, tell me a little about what you’re looking for, and get a feel for whether working together might be the right fit.
